Slower Speeds for a Liveable City
To mark the introduction of 30 km/h speed limits within the Canals at the start of April we are devoting our monthly meeting to 30 km/h speed limits with presentations by a Dublin City Council Engineer and three members of the Love 30 campaign, Mairead Forsythe, Muireann O’Dea and Colm Moore. The meeting will present the background to the introduction of 30km/h within the canals in Dublin and the plans for extending the 30km/h zones in the next few months. It will also report on what is happening around the country and which councils have proposed plans for 30km/h areas. And finally, it will include a report on what is happening in the UK where the 20’s Plenty for Us campaign is going from strength to strength.
Come along to find out more about how lower speed limits can make streets safer and more pleasant places for children and adults to live, socialise, work and play.
We’ll also be hearing from Sinéad Flavin of the NTA about the European Cycling Challenge during the month of May and we’ll have a brief report on the Liffey Quays Cycle last Sunday.
Public meeting. All welcome!
