The new Fingal Cycling Campaign sub group of Dublin Cycling Campaign is making a submission to Fingal County council for the design of the new masterplan for Donabate. The council are looking for suggestions for what Donabate should look like in the near future. We have made a number of suggestions in our submission to promote cycling and walking. Key areas we mentioned were to connect the new Fingal Coastal route to Donabate from Newbridge demesne and make it accessible for local families to use it for going to the shops and schools. 30 KmpH speed limits in the village and environs. We also made suggestions to improve bicycle parking at Donabate beach and make the cycling route safer to get to the beach from Donabate. We hope to see our ideas in the new draft of the masterplan for Donabate which is also going to consultation soon.
