Space Needed for Four Shipping Containers - for The Good Bike Project
Many of Dublin Cycling Campaign’s members and friends would know Paul McQuaid who runs The Good Bike Project which is all about refurbishing bikes and providing them to refugees in need. See https://thegoodbikeproject.com/.
So here’s the story – Paul has given away 3,200 bikes to Ukrainian refugees all throughout Ireland in the past two and a half years. It has cost him a small fortune, and it has put his own business completely on hold, but he is committed to getting more bikes to more people. Currently he has a waiting list of over 500 Ukrainians throughout Ireland who have asked for bikes, but he just can’t get to them yet.
For the last 6-8 months, a company has provided Paul with a space and four containers to work out of at their location in Citywest. However, the ownership of the property has recently changed and the new owner has insisted on a “no bikes on site” policy (for some unknown reason). Paul now needs to find a spot to plonk four 40 foot containers. The best case scenario is that someone has a space, likes what Paul is doing, and wants to help The Good Bike Project. Ideally he is looking for a long-term solution, but even short term would be brilliant if that’s available. Plus, he needs to be in or around Dublin as that is where his courier company collects from every day.
If you can help Paul out in his moment of need with offers of, or suggestions for, space for his containers, he would love to hear from you! He can be contacted on paul@thegoodbikeproject.com.
