LAUNCH of Euro Velo Cycle Route in Wexford

Sunday, 4 June 2017 (All day)
Saltmills, Co Wexford

Its the June Bank Holiday Weekend, and many of you will be thinking of heading out on your bikes at some stage!

Well, why not head down to Saltmills in Wexford for the official unveiling of a 120km new signposted and mainly on-road cycle route. This route is an official part of the Euro Velo 1 Cycle Route, which is part of the European Cycle Network (www.eurovelo.com). What a great addition to our formal Irish cycle routes! Cyclist.ie has been liaising with Wexford County Council on the development of this route, as well as working with the National Trails Office. The route also coincides along part of it with the newly designated Norman Way, containing many heritage sites. There are a myriad of natural and built heritage features along the route. The official opening, taking place next Sunday 4th June should be a great event, and a time to mix with other cycling enthusiasts. The forecast is decent, and there is a full walking festival also taking place over the weekend! So if you happen to be at a loose end and fancy a jaunt on your bike, why not come along and join some fellow Cyclist.ie and Dublin Cycling Campaign members supporting this new addition to our Cycling Network?

SEE YOU THERE!?
