Rock Road Cycle Counter

It has been reported that the cycle counter on the Rock Road has been damaged on Sunday and is currently out of use. DLR county council have informed us that they are working with their contractors to get this operational very soon.

Ossian Smyth, a councillor of DLR county council reported it on Twitter.

Someone went on to suggested that the cycle counter was damaged by a motorcycle colliding with it. We hope that the person is ok and recovers well.

You will be aware that the cycle counters have been of great use of logging statistics on bicycle journeys in both Dun Laoghaire Rathdown and Dublin City. They have been largely very useful in showing the increases in cycle numbers and assisting in cycle planning.

Let’s hope this cycle counter is reinstated without much delay.
