Grange Road Cycle & Walking Scheme and Streets Enhancement

Dublin Cycling Campaign made another submission (on 10th February 2016) in regard to a proposed cycle scheme - this time for Grange Road in Rathfarnham. The full submission is viewable below as a PDF.

Overall, we broadly welcome this proposal for improvements to facilities for all road users on Grange Road, which forms part of Secondary route 10B in the Greater Dublin Area Cycle Network Plan. We were happy to be part to the initial workshopping process on this route and we feel that many of the discussions that emanated from the workshop have borne fruit in this proposed scheme design. The draft proposal will raise the profile of the area, upgrade the entrances to St Enda’s National Historic Park, and increase the safety and comfort of pedestrians and cyclists.

There are however a number of issues which, we think, require revisiting - these include the design of cycle facilities near bus stops, the locations/design of car parking spaces, signage etc. Details as per the full submission.
